Tasting Notes
Deep red in colour, the wine's dominant aroma is soft berry fruits, both red and black, with herbal notes and hints of spice. Dynamic on the palate, revealing freshness and a savouriness which rides on smooth tannins and a long-lasting aromatic finish
History
In an area with thousands of years of tradition behind it, Torresella - a village not far from the Venetian Lagoon - it is a land where agriculture is deeply rooted in the social and cultural life. Here the influence of the sea provides mild winters and the north winds refresh the summers. It is this zone, where the Veneto's countryside borders on the lagoon,
that our vineyards thrive.
Regional Information
On one side there are the Alps, and on the other the Lagoon of Venice, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the middle we have an area that is fertile and rich in minerals, thanks to the Livenza and Tagliamento rivers that act as its borders. It is an agricultural territory, a long way from large urban centers and in harmony with the surrounding countryside, where some of the last marshland remaining intact in Europe hosts herons and many other migrating birds.
Vinification Details
The grapes are harvested when fully ripe and then carefully destemmed and pressed. The must stays in contact with the skins for 8/12 days to create a red wine. A proportion of the wine is aged in oak and the rest in concrete vessels before assemblage and bottling.
